SHAGadelic wall
When I was first getting into atomic, mid century furniture and furnishings I discovered SHAG (JoSH AGle). Love his work, I just wish I had more of his prints. I do have one of my favorites though -- Palm Springs Weekend. I finally decided to hang it in our hallway. I experimented with a couple shades of paint to match the print, and did a geometric paintjob on the wall where it hangs. Turned out pretty good, but if I ever do it again I'll make the angles smaller to get a more vertical look and less of a circus tent look ;-).

I'm digging that paint job!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Lots of careful taping but as always the prep work is most of the job.
ReplyDeleteI love that print. It looks so fantastic with the paint job. That must have taken you some time. Don't you wish you could jump into that picture? I'd be the one in the life ring with a martini in my hand.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely would rather be there than in this winter wonderland I'm in right now. I'd probably be the one chatting up the blonde, or the guy in the 63 T-bird.
ReplyDeleteOh - I adore Shag too ! His stuff is captivating ! And your wall looks really cool...love it !! XX
ReplyDeleteThanks Kesenya!
