Tiki Carving Update

If ever there was a time when I went into something not knowing if I could do it, this is the time.

The tall tulip poplar in the backyard has gone from this...

to this...

to this...

to this...

and if I'm lucky, when all the chain sawing is done, it will look something approximately like this!

  1. Oh yeah! I knew you were gonna make that stump a tiki!! I really love the velvet tiki painting! Is that painting actually yours? I collect velvets and I'd die if I stumbled across a tiki--it would be extra perfect for the Tiki Arcade!! Good luck with your carving please post pics!

  4. Thanks everybody, I got the chainsaw out today and dug in. Got a long way to go, but by posting on here I'm hoping you all will keep the pressure on me to get this done!

Amber - I wish I owned this velvet painting. I ran across it on deviantart.com. I'm planning to buy a print, but I'm sure it won't be the velvet original. Here's a link to the image - http://www.deviantart.com/print/13403381/?itemids=195

I would love to see your velvet painting collection.

Barbara, I think if your were my SWMBO you would definitely keep me busy with projects ;-)
